thanks for this, when I was setting up my new iPhone 8, bought after the death 
of my six, I seem to remember turning off something called "true tone". I think 
it was under settings/display and brightness. do you think I should turn back 
on?

also, where is it documented that VoiceOver and screen curtain will put the 
brightness at zero?
