Hi
Here is my two cents on using an IPod along with an IPhone. My IPhone does not
have the maximum storage capacity so I also use an IPad i.e. tablet. I use the
tablet to store my apps such as Bard Mobile and Audible along with many other
apps that I use such as Tell Me When, My Fitness Pal etc. this way I am not
taking up all the storage on my phone with apps that I do not use on a regular
basis such as facebook or Lire. If I had thought about it when purchasing my
phone, I would have gone with the largest storage phone so I only had to use
one device. But, unfortunately, I did not think nor did I have the money to
purchase the larger phone. I do not know anything about IPods but I believe
they can run the same as an IPad Mini in price and between the two devices, I
would go with the tablet. I like the tablet for the larger screen when wanting
to views phots or face time my family. My only complaint about the IPad Mini
is that I see a difference in how apps are designed for the tablet compared to
the phone. The apps for the phone are easier to navigate and function much
better.

I have an iPhone which also happens to be my work phone. I like having another
device, in my case an iPad, so I can update the iPad first and use it for a
time before applying the update to my phone so I have less risk of messing up
my work phone. I also do mostly read books from my iPad or Victor Trek rather
than on my iPhone, but that is just personal choice.

Subject: Re: Supplementing my iPhone with an iPod: Good Idea?

Craig,

I don't have an iPod Touch but I agree With others who have said they end up
mainly using their primary device with the latest technology when they have
more than one device. Keeping devices updated with the latest version of apps
and iOS requires a good bit of administrative time and I prefer to devote that
time to one device. Sieghard also makes an excellent point about the latest
Touch being old technology. These devices cost a considerable amount of money
and new apps are always taking advantage of the latest technology so hardware
updates are unavoidable. My wallet prefers that I'm only having to update one
device. My available admin time also prefers this.

Good luck with your decision.
