Hi John,
What I have done is tried another ringtone that I bought around the same
time and assigned that to home, so I called my mobile from the home phone
and that worked, then I tried the ringtone which I wanted for my friend and
did the same thing, assigned it to home and it worked. I tried a different
ringtone for the person I wanted it to be assigned to and that person called
on the mobile but it went back to the default setting. Its something to do
with ringing from mobile to mobile because it doesn't seem to work with
different ringtones and we both have the same iphone it has just all come to
light since the update the other day. Maybe its a bad file I don't know.
Do you have any more suggestions?

Make sure the ringtone plays or try another one for that friend until you
can determine that you aren't just dealing with a bad ringtone (.m4r)
file.

I wonder if anyone can help. I want to assign a certain ringtone to a
person, but every time I select it and save, no matter what I do, it
reverts
back to the default setting, I have even tried deleting the contact and
putting it in again as a new contact then selecting the rington I want for
that person but then it just goes back to the default setting. can anyone
help? or have a clue what I need to do?
