I have not. The probe is shaped like an Allen Wrench, so it has about a 4 inch probe on the long side, and the short side is about 2 inches until you get to the cord, which is oven safe and I think about 4 feet long. There is a kind of cover that does get pretty hot that is on the curve of the probe before the cord. The cord plugs into a small unit that has the battery and you press the top for about 3 seconds or so to turn it on. Maybe 5 seconds … You can’t tell it is on without the app which will switch to show you the temp when the probe is paired. You can set a target temp or cook by time. I use it mostly for doing things on the George Forman grill so I set a target temp. It notifies you when you are ten degrees from your target, then again when you hit the target, which isn’t very long when grilling a pork chop or steak.
