Well, the app is free, you didn't have to pay to download it!
The info on the app that I read said that headphones were needed, nothing
misleading there!

One big problem is that this app is being advertised as free when, to be
fully functional, you really do need good headphones. If it had features

With some bone conduction headphones (I've got some Trekz Air headphones)
it's ok. You can cut down on the chatter by turning off some announcements
and speeding up the speech, but from what I can tell, it's only British
English which in general is not a problem, but it would be nice if there
were an American English voice option since some of the pronunciations can
be rather . . . dynamic with the foreign accent.
I don't know how comfortable I'd be walking around with anything over my
ears like that in general, but some folks are better at this than others I
suppose.
The around me and ahead of me feature are nice in that they can offer
context to what's around you instead of just focusing on the destination.
Also, the Trekz aren't going to score you any style points if presentation
is important to you. Not the type of headphones you're going to want to
wear if you have to deal with meetings or need to be in any sort of
professional setting and so on.

The app sounds intriguing. I will probably use my Apple EarPods, the

Starting a separate thread on this since from what I can tell nobody has
talked about this app yet.
It looks as though Soundscape is pretty similar to BlindSquare in terms of
the things it can call out and announce, with the big new feature being
the 3D sound. This, however, assumes one has headphones that can safely be
used outside, and this definitely isn't the case for me with only earbuds
and over the ear headphones. So my question is is Soundscape even worth
trying out and mostly just focusing on the non-3D announcements like
interesections? From what I understand it has more up to date maps than
BlindSquare.
