It might have to do with the rumored release of a new IOS update, which if it is true would certainly jam up the servers.

Apple must be having trouble. My daughter & I have gotten the same message. & neither of us has updated an app or tried to purchase an app. We both are still using IOS 10.x. The message started appearing around 2:30pm Eastern & seems to popup after unlocking the iPhone after the iPhone has been locked.

After updating today, (and I am on the current version of iOS) when I tried bringing it up, it said unable to process purchases from the iTunes store at this time. There was nothing to purchase; be my eyes is free. I don’t understand. I rebooted my device, and I’m still getting this message, which I get after deleting the app and trying to reinstall from the App Store it tells me to try again later. Is anyone else experiencing this?
