How cool is that? Definitely if I lived alone, that would be a must for fitness and falls. As time goes by, I think most people are is scared of falling as they are of dementia.

If you like to know things like your heart rate, how much you walked and so on than the Apple Watch is nice. Of course for an old biddy like you, Carolyn *big smile* something like the fall detection feature on the new Apple Watch 4 could be a valueable feature. What it does is that the watch through its sensors will detect if you fell and if you were hurt or unconscious to the point where you could not interact with the watch within 1 minute an automatic call to emergency services would be placed, 111 in the UK and 911 in North America. I assume that just with any call of that nature a text message would also be sent out to anybody else whom you specified in your medical Id section as an emergency contact. In a crowded, noisy environment, getting a tap on the wrist when a text message comes in means I'm more likely to know I got the message. I'm not that into fitness, but being reminded to get up and walk around each hour has improved my health, I'm sure. Sometimes when it's hard to get my phone out in a hurry, being able to answer the phone from my wrist is convenient. There are apps that are really helpful in addition to the built-in ones as well. I have one called Clicker that simply lets you tap it to count things. I knit, and some of the patterns require counting rows. I love having the count on my wrist, where it's easy to access. It's also easier to deal with text messages from the watch without stopping what I'm doing completely. When a new one comes in, I can quickly dictate a reply. I hope that helps.
