I'm on VZW, but I had the same experience. The message got to my phone
seconds after I sent it, but the reply I sent back to the PC hadn't
arrived after nearly an hour. I eventually went into my ISP spam folder
and approved it from there.
Texting using the PC works, but it's not as automatic as texting or
regular Email. My ISP lets me re-categorize messages it considers SPAM,
but it doesn't learn that the domains it constantly blocks are safe no
matter how many times I approve them. I can't find any way to give
these messages some kind of global approval so they get sent to my PC
automatically.
If you can teach your ISP that the messages coming to your PC using your
phone number or someone Else's are safe, you should be able to
send/receive messages as if you were texting or Emailing without any delay..

double tap send.
