I have never seen a thing, and I always turn my head to my phone when I’m using it.

The only time you may need to move your head around is to do the initial scan. After that and if you're set up right, you just interact with the phone as you normally would when using it. I mean, I lost my vision so some sighted habits are just engrained into me. I still flick the lights on and off when entering my room or bathroom or whatever. I still generally look at/towards my phone when I'm using it, etc. Even with the touch ID, after I unlocked it, I still looked down at it or in its general direction while I was doing whatever or reviewing this or that alert. Maybe it's different if you've always been total. I really can't say.
