I can only agree with Brett and Sandy that Sonos is absolutely the way to go. I bought my first Sonos equipment almost 10 years ago and while for the first couple of years accessibility was a challenge this is long in the past. Around 2011 or 2012 Sonos decided accessibility was important and they haven't had a setback ever since. The only exception I guess would be the touch controls on the newer speakers like the Play 5 Gen 2, the Sonos One etc. They could have easily designed the surface on top of the speaker with a slight indentation similar to how the home button on an iPhone 8 feels since it's not really a button but a virtual button with just a slight concave area in the glass. Having said this I don't find it that hard to use the volume control on our set of One speakers in our bathroom and Kitchen, if you orient yourself on the side of the speaker and then tap on top almost half way to the back it's not that difficult to hit it and you could always mark those spots with a tactile dot. I love how Sonos embraces a multi-platform approach when it comes to virtual assistants. Currently it is only Alexa that is supported, but Google Assistant is coming soon this year and it is their aim to support all major digital assistants. I assume after Google has been added that Cortana might be next and of course SIRI will probably be a while since Apple is not about to give anybody access yet although I predict that this will change in a couple of years. The other nice thing with Sonos is that even my almost 10-year old Sonos Amps and Connects still get all software updates and while of course things like Airplay 2 support and voice assistants are limited to newer hardware they still work flawlessly. Investing in Sonos gear means you get great sounding audio, great technology but also long-term support and they don't expect you to replace your stuff every few years. One thing I do expect is that there might be a new Play 5 with built-in support for the voice assistants and that is what I am currently waiting for since I would love to have a set of Play 5 speakers for our bedroom. I still am somewhat thinking of putting a set of Apple Homepods there because from all I heard they do also sound great and they are somewhat less expensive, but I have learned it doesn't pay to do things in a hurry so I'll wait a bit longer and see what happens this year. I just got a Google Home Mini which came with a Nest Hello video doorbell I bought and I must say I am quite impressed by it, but I'll write a separate post about that.
