Sherry, Hide Alert is supposed to get rid of the sound alerting you that a
new message has come in. Perhaps when you changed the setting and still got
the sound, you had the person re-text you too quickly for the change to take
effect? I am speculating here.

I have a different objection to the current texting configuration. If I delete
a text
Message and that person texts me again later, I get the entire conversation
back. I really dislike this. If I have deleted it, I’ve done so for a reason
and don’t want the entire message string to come back at me. Does anyone know
how to change this?
