Hi Kathy, This is referring I believe to the freestyle libre sensor. For Dora outlier did a couple of podcasts. Generally, when your doctor prescribes it, they prescribe the reader, which is useless to blind people, and the sensors. So what we need is just the sensor, skip the reader. If insurance won’t pay for it, I understand it’s about $75 a month and can be used very accurately with the iPhone. Apparently you can also inject the sensor if that’s the right word, every 14 days without sided assistance. I recently saw an article from the NFB saying that thanks to their advocacy, Medicare will now cover this for the blind. I do not know what is involved with making that happen. But if your friend is blind, they might want to look into that.
