Hi. I have been using the 14 day free style libre system for about 3 months now. I can tell you that the iPhone app is very accessible. You do not need the reader at all.! I did not purchase the reader because it is not useful for blind users. I am in the review stage for my insurance provider trying to get them to pay for it. Right now, I pay $74.99 for 2 kits, 28 days. You do not need sighted assistance to apply the sensor, activate it, or scan using your iPhone, (check your glucose). If you turn on text-to-speech within the app, the scanned results are automatically read aloud. You can also swipe to read the scanned results.
