When I asked Winston about recognizing PDF’s in the scanner app he said: I’m already working on that, but I’m implementing it inside Voice Dream Reader. If you load a PDF doc that is scanned, you can optionally “Perform OCR”, which would make that PDF readable in Voice Dream Reader.
I don’t have a file to test right now as I need to get ready for work, but when you open the PDF in voice Dream, or touch focus on it, you should be able to find an option to do OCR. If you send me a scanned PDF directly, I’ll test it if you don’t figure it out.
