Hi Vicki,

If you set up a passcode to protect your phone, I would not recommend using 
your Apple ID password. For one thing, you can use a simpler passcode on your 
phone. Also, it's just more secure if the two are different.

By default, your phone will ask for a six-digit passcode. YOu can change it to 
a four-digit one, which is easier but less secure, or an alphanumeric one, 
where you type in a passcode using letters and/or numbers and whatever length 
you like. I imagine there's a minimum length, but I don't know what it is.
