Thanks Mary. If he knows how to do it, I'd like to know. I asked him on
the other list how to do it, but I haven't heard back from him yet. I
get that it wouldn't be a big deal for some, but as I said, on Android
I've developed some ways of organizing my apps, using the corners and
edges, to quickly find my most commonly used apps, and I'd like to get
this same kind of efficiency on my iPhone. I doubt it would be a deal
breaker for me, but I would find it frustrating.

I don’t think he quite understood what you wanted to do. I sent David a private
message, because as far as I know, if I understand what you want to do, you
can’t do it with iOS. You can’t arbitrarily leave blank spaces in the middle of
the screen. You can’t drop something around which are blank spaces. If you can,
I don’t know how to do it. And I don’t think I’m missing. For me, this is a
total no biggie. But if it’s a big deal for you, OK.

Thanks Sieghard, but on another list David Tanner told me this is easy to do
and I just don't know as much about IOS as I should. I know he's right about my
ignorance, and I hope he's right about moving icons on the screen too, but he
didn't give me the steps to make this happen. I've asked on this list and
looked on AppleVis.com, and I just can't find it or figure it out.
I do this on my Android phone because I find it's easiest to find apps in the
corners and along the edges. I'm thinking my next phone might be an iPhone, and
it would be really frustrating for me if I can't organize my home page the way
I want. If anyone else has any pointers, please share!

You can't, if, for example, you only have 2 rows of icons on a home page you
can't put anything in row 4, it will always go behind whatever your last icon
is.

Subject: Moving an icon to a specific place on the home screen
I'd like to move an icon on a home page to the bottom row of the page right
above the dock, but I can't figure out how to do it. I don't currently have any
icons in the lower half of this home page, so using the options in the edit
menu, such as move after another icon, won't get this icon down there. I've
tried going into edit mode and doing a a double tap and hold and then moving to
the place on the screen where I want to place the icon, but lifting my finger
results in no change. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but if anyone can
tell me what I'm doing wrong, I'd appreciate it!
