Alia, Wow! That sounds awful.
I'm so glad you finally got up and running with a new device. As for me, I had about a 2-second scare when I placed my original SIM card in my replacement phone and was told that it could not be activated. However, after about 2 seconds, it did, in fact activate and has been working as expected ever since. I'll tell you one thing, it is far better to make an encrypted backup of your phone via iTunes on a computer, rather than iCloud. Before I took my phone into Apple, I made both an iTunes and an iCloud backup. I did this in order to see what kind of differences would be the result when restored, although I already had a pretty good idea. Well, to make a long story even longer, I can tell you that only from my iTunes backup was I able to have apps, no longer available from the App Store be automatically reinstalled to my device. I am not saying this is the case with yours, but this has been my experience in the past. On the other hand it doesn't really matter because for all intends and purposes an Apple refurbished phone is as good as new anyways. -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
