Hello Janet, I'm glad you got your iPhone to talk again. Turn the rotor till you come to sounds and swipe up or down with one finger to toggle sounds on or off. If you don't hear sounds in your rotor, but you hear other things like hints, headings, punctuation, etc. go into your settings, go to general, accessories, and voiceOver. In the voiceOver settings, go to rotor where you'll see what has actually been selected. If sounds is not among your rotor selections, double-tap on sounds to put it into your rotor. Hope this helps.
