There is no need to upgrade from the 7s, 6s, or SE, since they are all able to run iOS 13. So, you have another year at least, and possibly more before you may not be able to upgrade to the next iOS. Even then, unless there is a compelling reason like a feature you rely on going away or not working in that next iOS; stick with what works.
I am tempted by some of the new features but see no need to upgrade from my SE for now.

Well, we've had our 7s for two years now, and are just about done paying for them. I'd like some time off before we have to start paying for two new phones again. It does become a bit wearing, you know?
