I did get it to work finally but afterwards my battery went down the toilet. I started at 100% at about 10:30 am and my phone died because of a low battery by about 12:30 during which time I didn’t make or receive a call or send or receive any text messages. The phone got quite warm as well. I’ll turn it off for a while and see if that helps or if this is a symptom of 13.1.

When you hear VoiceOver say that it is off, double-tap to turn it on. That is like a toggle switch to turn it on or off. You can also tell SIRI to turn it on or off.
