It works like a charm for me. Had Daniel compact before, have Daniel premium
now, all by just changing the Siri voice under
Settings/General/International/Voice Input. Really happy about this. You do
have to select your language from the VoiceOver rotor though since your
default language will still be based on your region.

Hmmm, I'm not at all sure this works.

I changed my region format back to U.S. English and got Samantha
immediately. I went into voice control and changed the first one which says
"siri" in the heading; I still have Samantha both for siri and other
functions. The only other choice under voice control is voice dial only and
i know I don't want that. Changing under language itself is actually not an
option because Australian English isn't under language but it is under
region format. So I don't think the voice control setting gives you the hq
voice for that language unless there is something I am missing here. Until I
get more information about this, I'm going back to having this set in region
format before Samantha manages to come back in all her hq non-glory!

I saw the voice control section but I had the impression it wouldn't change
all aspects of the voice use and give you the hq voice. Will try going back
to my normal format region and try this.

Wow, the voice input language thing does work. So no need to change one's
region to get a different English premium voice. thanks a lot for this.

Hi Ramy. In order to change your default language in Voiceover, you either
have to set the Iphone's language to whatever you specify it to speak in by
going to general, international, and language. Or if you don't want to
change the iPhone's language, another way to get Voiceover to change its
default language is to go to general, international, and voice control. HTH
and if I've missed anything else, let me know.
