I just did a test with the Braille Edge and my work iPhone 8 plus running iOS 13.1.3. I wrote a long note in Voice Dream Writer, and in Email. There was no lag to speak of. I could use the routing buttons on the display to put me on a word or character where I needed to make a correction. When I then used the rotor commands to move by character or word, the cursor moved exactly where I wanted it. Now, if you are doing this with VoiceOver speech on, you will here VoiceOver reading way too much. Turn off the speech, and your editing experience might improve.
