If you do not plan to use a given app with bluetooth, say no when it asks. Also, does the car show up in your bluetooth setting? If so, double tap on the More Info and forget the device" Or check the Car Play settings and turn it off there. Then, it won't connect 'when you get in the car. It's rather annoying.

First the story: I have been experiencing occasional loss of speech, often while in the car. While on a 3 hour drive yesterday that happened. We recently purchased a car that has blluetooth connectivity. Although the dealer set up my phone to connect, we don't use it. I had forgotten that the reason we don't use it on my phone is because I lose speech when connected. I was so frustrated yesterday when speech was gone again, when all of a sudden I received a phone call, and it poped up on the dash while my husband was driving. All this to rediscover that the bluetooth connection was what was causing the speech loss. I did figur out that I could use earbuds and have speech, but the minute I unplugged them it was gone. So, here's the question: Why do some aps ask to have bluetooth turned on? And is it really necessary if I'm not trying to connect to my laptop or some other device?
