Verizon phones have a trade in value to reduce the monthly payments. When I traded my SE for my iPhone 8, I was given a $175.00 trade in value for the SE. My monthly payments have been $7.00 less than the full monthly payment. The catch is that the full amount of the remaining payments for the new phone has to be paid in full if paid off early for a new phone. I have 2 more payments to go on my iPhone 8 and I don't plan on upgrading any time soon. I like my phone. So many companies nickel and dime us and a bargain sometimes isn't a bargain.
As for tMobile, reception is very poor all over Connecticut. I have may friends who dumped them. Their cells are not very good here. I can't speak for other states however.
