Ian, The best solution will be a function of which hardware you're wanting this most accessible approach to run under. Will all parties be using the same type of device to access the information or will some be using smart phones and others computers? I expect the other caveat is that the more accessible and convenient the solution, the less secure it will be. Having said that, you might consider using Dropbox shared folders with your family members. I personally wouldn't trust any financial information on a cloud-based service like Dropbox unless the underlying files were encrypted such as in a passwords database file. The nice thing about shared Dropbox folders is that the underlying files can be accessed either with a computer or a smart phone running the Dropbox app.
