I know. Its great. Apple really have come up trumps. Their accessibility is superb. I am so glad I could change the gestures so I could make things work for me. I was wondering how I would make the phone respond when I wasnt able to get to grips with the swiping. shirley ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Turner To: viphone@googlegroups.com Sent: Thursday, May 14, 2020 12:56 PM Subject: Re: swiping up to go to home
This is the perfect demonstration of the power of iOS 13 and Apple's commitment to accessibility. The fact that you can customize the gestures to something that works for you is fantastic. I have lots of clients who will benefit from this. Many people just cannot get that one finger sliding gesture to work. Thanks to Scott for reminding us, and me, in particular. Lift your finger and that takes you to the home screen. The same gesture, but at the third sound or second vibration will take you to the app switcher. It takes some practice, and if you start hearing the usual screen clicks you get with VoiceOver, you aren’t starting at the right place. It has to be a smooth slide. I am not used to not having a home button. Can someone guide me on what is the best way to swipe to access it? I'm not really good at swiping, as usually with my old phone I did everything manually and I didnt swipe much. Its telling me to swipe from the bottom of the screen upwards, until I hear it vibrate once. how many fingers do I use to swipe, and how fast do I swipe the screen? shirley -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
