I went into the iTunes & App Store settings on my old SE phone and changed
the settings on the new SE 2020 phone to match. Under the heading,
automatic downloads I now have Music, Apps and App updates set to, Off.
Under the cellular data heading, I now have automatic downloads turned, On,
for downloading apps using cellular data I have set to, always ask, and the
Video autoplay is set to, Off. Hopefully the couple of changes I made was
the problem for app updates not being reported by Voiceover. Thank you very
much for your input.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

Hello,
Maybe your update turned off since last IOS update...
Go to settings/your name/iTune store and appstore/update and see if it's
selected or not

  Hi All,

With my new SE 2020 I noticed that when there's available updates
voiceover is not reporting there are updates when I touch the App Store icon
on the Home Screen. I have the App store turned on in Notifications and in
Siri suggestions. What am I missing? How do I get Voiceover to report when
there are available updates? Thanks mooy moocho.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.
