You understand correctly, + not only the number of updates, but available
updates isn't being reported either. In Notifications / App Store I have
previews set with always and the notification style is set to banners,
sounds, badges. Thanks much.

Hello,

I am late to this thread. If I understand the question, no number appears
beside the AppStore icon when there are app updates available?

If so, might the notification option to display badges be turned off for the
AppStore? This would prevent the display of the number. Check under...
settings / notifications / appStore

Apologies if I am missing the question.

Okay, if I understand how automatic updates works, if turned on:
The apps will update as they become available, therefor, the icon would not
show any available. So what I was saying, if he had accidently had automatic
updates on, there would not be any showing on the icon.

I agree with Dave. I never turn on automatic app updates on my iPhone and
I'm told how many app updates I have when focus is on the App store icon on
my home screen.

You shouldn’t have to have automatic updates on, To show in the app store.

My phone will say there are so many updates available. Then i go in to the
app store, and do a 3 finger swipe down, to refresh the page, which can
bring up even more, if they are available.

Then i double tap, on the update all button.

Dave.

Check to see if automatic updates is on. Sometimes these settings just get
changed when the IOS updates are installed.

Hi All,

With my new SE 2020 I noticed that when there's available updates voiceover
is not reporting there are updates when I touch the App Store icon on the
Home Screen. I have the App store turned on in Notifications and in Siri
suggestions. What am I missing? How do I get Voiceover to report when
there are available updates? Thanks mooy moocho.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.
