Mike, I'd suggest you go to Settings, Accessibility, VoiceOver, Audio, and Sounds and Haptics. Take your phone out of its case. You can turn off sounds on this screen and also turn off Haptics or change the haptic intensity. I feel pretty sure you can adjust these settings in some combination where you can get a sense of the differing haptic feedback. If not, I wouldn't worry about it.

Other than the Sound & Haptics in Settings and in Voiceover / Audio, is there somewhere else to change settings?
