Take your phone out of its case. You can turn off sounds on this screen and also turn off Haptics or change the haptic intensity. I feel pretty sure you can adjust these settings in some combination where you can get a sense of the differing haptic feedback. If not, I wouldn't worry about it. I reset it to, 0 , swiped around then set the haptic setting to, 100% , and didn't notice any difference. Other than the Sound & Haptics in Settings and in Voiceover / Audio, is there somewhere else to change settings? Hell, maybe everything is okay and I'm just not getting my head wrapped around this whole haptic thing!
