I just replaced an Airport Extreme with an Eero Pro ... in my case I also added a second beacon, but depending on the size of your place and such that may or may not be necessary. Eero has done a very good job with making the app accessible .. and I had things all set up within about 10 minutes. If you have an Apple TV or Home Pod, the Eero has Home Kit support, so you can integrate it into your home. Like I said the app is very accessible and it will let you control all the devices on your network .. If you use the same SSID and password, all should just connect up without any fussing .. The router has 2 ports on it,, one to connect to your internet modem, and the other for whatever.
