Hello Richard and list I can not understand why Apple can not implement a low battery alert when the phone is locked. Now that I am retired it happens often that my battery is ok but because I do not use the phone so frequently it happens many time that the battery goes down because I did not use it for a few hours. Samsung phones do give alerts so why is this so difficult for apple to implement?

For example, if you get the 20% alert, then play an audio book or music and lock the phone, you will not get the 10% alert, eventually the phone will just turn off when it gets to 0%. Apparently in iOS 14 I read that with more functionality in the Shortcuts app you could set, for example, an alert at 30% and even set it up so that you don't just get the option to enable low power mode, but you can set it up so it automatically turns on low power mode. There is no alert at 5% unlocked or not and nothing you can do in Settings will change or prevent the 20% and 10% alerts.
