Well, Andy, all I can say is that if auto brightness is set to automatic, and I have the screen curtain on, when I check screen brightness it is at 0.
When I turn off screen curtain, it adjusts to the room so my wife can see it. So, my logic says that if indeed brightness set to 0 saves battery, then auto brightness and screen curtain saves battery. I'll leave everyone to their own opinion on this one since I'm stuck with mine.
