I have never had that problem. I have found that VO leaves focus in the last field from session to session, so if you move focus away from the call timer, it remains away. If it returns to the call timer, you may well be lightly brushing the timer field which moves focus there. Remember, iOS requires merely the lightest touch and is not pressure sensitive.
