I think a lot depends on how it’s going to be used. I have 2 Home Pods and love them .. but I generally use them for listening to music .. or playing my Apple TV through them .. controlling my smart plugs and such .. I think they have superior sound to the Echo .. that being said, there are a lot more things that work with the Echo .. and if you are into all the trivia .. games .. etc., there are a ton of skills for the Echo.
