Richard, I am going to ask what may be a stupid question. Can you write in grade 2 Braille, or does it have to be grade 1?

So long as you remember to have the iPhone or iPad locked when you turn on the writer, it has no trouble reconnecting to whatever devices it had been paired with. I am only going to address the Bluetooth with Apple devices as the USB connection to a computer has a little way to go. With keyboard echo set to characters, I am having no trouble at all writing and editing with the Writer. I am finding responsiveness of the keyboard to be excellent. At least with iOS 14 public beta 4. all of the braille commands work very well. The Command, Shift, d to send an email, for example. If you press space+dot7,1, then immediately press space+dot7,4 then quickly press the letter d, an email will be sent. I sometimes have to do that twice, but I think that is because I was not quite fast enough. Navigating with the rotor works as expected. this is much better for me than doing the on-screen braille. The Writer is so small and light I am taking it everywhere with me.
