Hi mickey, Actually, the new firmware that will be out next week, I hope, works fine with any setting, other than while deleting with dot 7. If you just have it set to words, it is not going to speak each letter you delete, so if you have used a contraction, it is a bit confusing if you need to backspace over it. But, that is true I think for any braille device, but with a physical braille display, you can read what you are deleting.
