Rang Apple and told them what I had done already. they suggested re-booting Router as Debby suggested, it worked. I didn't do this earlier because nothing has changed on my local network for months and months. Now of course i remembered that last night I disconnected my WIFI enabled TV and i think the router may have got confused between this old IP address allocation and my SE re-joining the network.
