On the 7, I think it is holding down the home button and power button for 6 to 8 seconds until the screen goes blank and the Apple starts appearing.
You might also try the method of clearing the memory cache by holding down the power button until the power off icon appears, let go of the power button and then use a finger that is not set for a fingerprint, and hold the home button in until it comes back and asks for your passcode.
