Hi Karen,
To confirm that you can forward a text to an email, I just did it.
The email shows it is from my cell number at mypixmessages.com
And the text message is an attachment.

If you have tried this and still have an email account on your phone to send 
from, check your junk folder and see if it was put in junk as a strange email.
