Reviews on Amazon are always to be taken with a grain of salt. If something has that many of thousands of reviews it's not surprising if some people don't like it, often I read reviews of a product I absolutely love and thing works great only to read somebody gave it 1 Star because they weren't using it correctly. I am not saying that this is the case here, but it's all about expectations as well, if you expect something with audio quality of a $300 or $400 headset this is not it, but for use on a computer with a screenreader or audio books this is great, much more comfortable than the big honking over the ear types and with the USB dongle it's as responsive as a wired headset. When it comes to price you just have to shop around, $69 is a great price, I bought mine for a similar price but in Canadian, now the best price I saw is $99 Canadian. But mine works good and I don't really need a second one and since I can simply replace the rechargeable AAA batteries if they don't hold a charge any more I expect I'll have this headset for many years to come.
