The volume of the VoiceOver navigation sounds is already quite loud, and I
haven’t found a way to turn up the speech volume without having access to
speech. Siri doesn’t seem to be clever enough to do that on the Apple TV, or if
she is, it’s not making any difference.

Tomorrow I may try Be My Eyes, before calling Apple Accessibility. Does anyone
know whether Apple Accessibility has a means of controlling the Apple TV
remotely? Just curious.

Thanks,

Nicky

Thanks for the great suggestions, Reggie. I can turn VoiceOver off and back on,
both with Siri and by pressing the button 3 times, but still no speech. Siri
obeys commands, without speaking, and TV programmes play just fine, but
obviously I need the speech back. I’ll definitely call Apple Accessibility,
either today or tomorrow, and I’ll let the list know how I get on.

Thanks again,

Nicky

Did you try asking Siri to turn it off and then back on? Alternatively click
the button with the ring around it 3 times. If nothing happens click it 3 times
again and see if voice comes back. None of this works call apple accessibility.
They are pretty good at diagnosing Apple TV. Hope This helps.

Hi all,

I turned my Apple TV on, having not used it for a few weeks, and I have no
speech at all. I’m fairly sure VoiceOver itself is running, judging by the
sounds, but without speech I can’t go into the settings and sort it out. I’ve
tried asking Siri to turn speech off and then turn speech on, but to no avail
so far.

Does anyone have any tips for solving this problem without sighted assistance,
or will I have to do a factory reset?

Many thanks in advance,

Nicky
