The Surface is a good system, but to make the most of it you are going to need to add either an external keyboard or go with the Typecover. I rarely use the touch screen, as I find it way more efficient to use the keyboard with Jaws.
I think the Surface is a great little system and has great battery life and such .. but that is all coming at a premium. You can buy other Windows systems for a lot less that are similar in specs. Of course that didn't keep me from moving from the Pro 4 to the Laptop 3...which has even better battery life and is a traditional laptop. Each time I have upgraded my Windows system I end up with this internal debate to move to a Mac or Ipad. With the Mac it comes down to working all day with Windows .. and then in my personal life moving to Mac OS. The times I've tried at night I'd be doing Jaws commands on the Mac and trying Voice Over stuff on my work box. So I figured it was easier just to stay with one OS. I've also thought about moving to an Ipad, but as someone else said there are still some issues with Word and such on the IOS platform. As for Zoom that works great both places. I also find it much faster to do things in Office on a laptop. Hope I helped and didn't make things more difficult for you. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] <[email protected]> On Behalf Of Lynda Ingraham Sent: Saturday, February 27, 2021 12:11 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Surface Pro vs Ipad good morning everyone, I am considering purchasing either a Microsoft surface pro or a 12 inch iPad. I’m wondering if anyone has any experience with the surface pro and jaws and how they feel about it’s Accessibility compared to the iPad. I am primarily interested in attending zoom classes doing research on the computer and preparing word documents. Not too much actually no editing of audio files or video things like that thank you very much, Lynda Sent from my iPhone -- The following information is important for all members of the V iPhone list.
