I am planning on replacing my iPhone 7 with the 2021 iPhone Mini. I
very much want a smaller device with the same functionality of the
bigger phones. Battery size is relative. The iPhone 7, released in
2016, as a battery size of 1960 milliampere hours. The iPhone 8 and SE
second generation have battery sizes of 1820 mAh. The iPhone 12 mini
has a battery size of 2227 mAh, bigger than the iPhone 7 and 8 but
smaller than the regular iPhone 12 which is 2815 mAh. When compared
in actual use, which Apple wants consumers to consider, the 12 Mini
plays audio and video longer than the 7 or 8. I bought the 7 in
October 2016 and have not changed the battery since. It still lasts a
reasonable amount. People like to find something on which to
criticize an Apple device without placing their criticism in context.
The other criticism is that Apple phones have shorter battery life
than Android flagship phones. Apple could easily increase the
thickness of the phones, but people want light digital tools in their
hands and pockets not bricks.
