I am really surprised by all the "strange" home remedies, I would, for example,
never even think of dripping alcohol into the Lightning port and putting it on
a paper towel where the paper "sticks into the port" I don't think is very
recommended by Apple. They always warn not to stick anything into the port.
Yes, you can sometimes get lint into the port if you always carry the phone in
your pocket, but there are small pins in that port so unless you can see
exactly what you are doing sticking something in there is probably not a good
idea and when an Apple Geneous once cleaned out my port in the Apple Store all
he used was compressed air. Besides blowing into the port a few times using
compressed air is probably your best option to get any residual water out of
there and once that is done any remaining moisture will dry in short order and
without using the heat from a hairdryer or anything else.

Now a hairdryer is exactly what one should not use because it is way too hot, I
guess if you have that button which turns off the heat it might be OK, but a
more gentle stream of air for longer like a fan blowing air at room temperature
would be much better.

I do remember now that I used my hair dryer on warm to blow and blow on my
phone, but it only ever seemed to be wet on the bottom, when I removed it. I
was concerned about moisture getting inside the case, but could not get it off.
