The 50 Megabyte limit to download over cellular is an Apple thing and, in
fact, it used to be 20 Mb and they increased the download via cellular to 50
Mb I think in iOS 5. There will be no limit via WiFi, but if you currently
don't have a WiFi network you have to wait until you have your router set up
to download Audible books or larger Podcasts..

 

As for your radio streaming app, I assume that there is a setting to only
stream via WiFi in the TuneIn and NPR apps. Many streaming apps do have such
a setting and in some cases it's on by default because they want to make
sure you are aware that if you are streaming via 3G/4G you are using up a
bunch of data. Check the settings for these apps.
