Here is what a Z-shape looks like: Put your iPhone in front of you in the normal way, i.e. the charging port on the bottom, the volume buttons on the top left and the side/power button on the top right. Now run your finger along the short top edge of your phone Starting on the left near the volume buttons and going all the way to the right near the power/side button Now move your finger diagonally from the top right corner to the bottom left corner Lastly follow the bottom edge from the bottom left corner to the bottom right corner You have just made the shape of an upper case letter Z

Think of "Drop before" that the app goes to the left of the app you are on which means in place of the app and drop after means it goes to the right of the app you are on and the next app gets pushed over. There will also be an option to create a folder with the app you are on, for example, if you are dragging the Camera app and you go to the Photos app you could create a folder with these two apps which iOS would give a default name, this name can be changed later and if you are dragging an app and put focus on an existing folder then in addition to drop before and drop after you will have an option to drop the app into the folder. Lastly, after you go to your first app and select to drag the app you can go to a second and third app or even more and on each of them you can flick down to where Voiceover says "Add to drag session" and double tap. Voiceover will say that you are now dragging 2 apps or 3 apps or however many you select. This is very useful if you already have a folder and want to add a number of apps to the same folder.
