I've been a Bookshare member since it started. As mentioned, you can keep the books, or download them again at any time.
They often have books provided directly by the publisher on the same day the books become available to print readers in the book stores. Revolutionary for blind or low-vision readers who had to wait as much as a year or two to get books in an accessible format. You can use Voice Dream Reader with a braille display; but where it shines beyond all other apps is the higher quality voices and the ease of navigating, highlighting text, placing bookmarks, even writing notes to go with your highlight or bookmark. It can be a bit overwhelming at first, but read the manual/user guide if you choose to get it. I also like reading via the MP3 as well which is an option there’s also a daisy option and I think $50 is worth it in the US. It is a shame that NLS and Bookshare can’t collaborate in Mexico but hopefully they will someday.
