Kay,
You should use the 3.5mm jack on your IQ7 when using headphones with a 3.5mm plug. FYI, the Belkin Rockstar comes in a model with a 3.5mm port and a lightning port with the male lightning plug to connect to your device. However, I’m pretty sure this adapter only lets you power up your device with the lightning port while connecting another accessory in the other port. I’m pretty sure it will not allow you to connect two separate devices simultaneously in its two ports and both of them work. But it sounds like this is a nonissue for you at this point.
