I think I have mine fixed where no one can get through to me, if it is on Do Not Disturb, because I never use that function unless maybe in church or for some kind of business appointment that wouldn't last more than an hour. Since I can't get in my car and go pick up some stranded loved one, I think that on the fairly rare occasions, when I put my phone on Do Not Disturb, it does not hurt for me to block all calls from coming in. That would be the case with Airplane Mode.
